A Winning Weekend for the Norwood Champs!
May 14th, 2012

On Friday night the Norwood Champs Sports Bar and Grill Sr. Lacrosse
team hosted the Huntsville Hawks. The home team came out on top with a
14-7 victory. James Gang goals scored by Mike McNamara (2), Aaron Grayson (2), Josh Wasson-McQuigge (3), Chad Evans (1), Eric Bissel (2), Tyler Leeming (2), Greg Reilly (1), and Gavin Barrie (1).

Saturday the James Gang took on the Owen Sound North Stars at the Norwood-Asphodel Arena. After Norwood jumped out to a 7-0 first period lead, Owen Sound rallied for the final two periods to make it a close game. The final score was 13-10. James Gang goals scored by Matt Evans (3), Tyler Leeming (3), Mike McNamara (2), Josh Wasson-McQuigge (1), Jackson Gair (1), Gavin Barrie (2), and Blake Evans (1).

Next game is Friday May 18th at home against the Owen Sound North Stars which should prove to be an exciting rematch between two evenly matched teams.

James is the son of coach Jim Johnston and his wife June, and has been sadly missed since August 8th, 1993. In his memory, the team has adopted the name "James Gang," and retired his no. 16 jersey.
